Olorogun Fred Okiemute Majemite, a prominent Delta State politician, legal practitioner and two-time member of the Delta State Executive Council, has mourned the death of his father-in-law, Chief David Mafuvbe Siakpere, describing it as a deeply painful loss.
Chief Siakpere, a former Delta Central senatorial aspirant and ex-principal of Government College, Ughelli, as well as Urhobo College, Effurun, died on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
He was fondly known as “Ubiquitous,” while his students affectionately referred to him as “Obiquator.”
He hailed from Egbo-Uhurie in the Uhurie Sub-clan of Ughievwen Kingdom.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Majemite expressed shock over the sudden loss, noting that the family had only recently celebrated the birthday anniversary of his mother-in-law.
“Only 2 Sundays back, on the 4th of this month, January to be precise, we had a huge celebration for mummy, on her birthday anniversary, only for Daddy to close his act curtains this morning! Adieu daddy, teacher of men; the great disciplinarian!” Majemite wrote.
He described the late Chief Siakpere as a man of integrity, discipline and uncommon commitment to service, whose impact extended beyond his immediate family to the education and political landscape of Delta State.
Chief Siakpere was a respected Nigerian economist, educationist and politician who devoted decades of his life to shaping young minds and building institutions.
He was the longest-serving principal of Government College, Ughelli, where he was widely acknowledged for instilling discipline and academic excellence.
He also served as principal of Ovwian Grammar School and several other secondary schools.
Beyond education, the late statesman was actively involved in politics and public affairs, culminating in his aspiration for the Delta Central Senatorial seat, driven by a desire to contribute more directly to governance and national development.
Majemite extended condolences to the Siakpere family, the people of Egbo-Uhurie, Ughievwen Kingdom, the Urhobo nation and all those impacted by the life and legacy of the late educationist.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and for strength for the family and community to bear the irreparable loss.
