A former two-time Commissioner in Delta State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun Fred Okiemute Majemite, has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of Delta State, to embrace renewed faith, democratic stability, and greater youth inclusion as Christians celebrate Easter.
Majemite, a former governorship aspirant from Ughelli North Local Government Area, described Easter as a season that symbolises sacrifice, hope, and renewal, urging citizens to reflect these values in their personal lives and civic responsibilities.
He stressed that sustaining democracy in Nigeria requires both responsible leadership and active citizen participation, noting that unity and stability remain critical to national development.
According to him, “Easter reminds us of the power of sacrifice and the triumph of hope. It is a time for us to renew our faith in God, in our nation, and in the democratic process.”
The APC stalwart also emphasised the importance of youth inclusion in governance, stating that young people must be given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to policy-making and leadership.
“Our youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are partners in today’s development. Their energy, ideas, and innovation are essential to building a stronger Delta and a better Nigeria,” he said.
Majemite further urged political leaders and stakeholders to promote peace, avoid divisive tendencies, and focus on policies that will improve the welfare of the people.
