A candlelight procession and day of tributes have been held in honour of Mr Khoder Youssef El-Mazloum, the Group Managing Director of Unitop in Warri, Delta State.
Mr Khoder, a Lebanese-born entrepreneur fondly called ‘Oyinbo Wafi’ died on Thursday, January 26, 2023, in Lebanon his country of origin.
After a brief prayer, Unitop International Limited staff, both old and present from within and outside Delta State, including friends, contractors, suppliers and other sympathizers of the company with tears in their eyes processed from the company’s premises suited on No. 23 Ogunu Road Warri, through Angle Park roundabout to the popular Unitop Eagle Roundabout just before the Ogunu bridge where they briefly lit their candles and sang solemn songs in honour of their departed boss and friend, Mr Khoder El-Mazloum.
Unitop Eagle Roundabout built by Mr Khoder was commissioned on August 15, 2007, by the then Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon.

Back to the company premises, the chairman of the planning committee of the candlelight procession and day of tributes, Mr Apata Rufus, High Chief Aguwa Celestine, who knew Mr Khoder El-Mazloum, when he was 14 years and others paid glowing tributes to a man they described a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, giver and a good man who should have lived longer than 50 years.
For others, the late Mr Khoder El-Mazloum gave them hope and encouragement to become who they are today.
Mr Khoder El-Mazloum, the Group Managing Director of Unitop with subsidiaries comprising Unitop International Limited and Unitop Catering Services Limited was born on March 4, 1972.
