Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori: A Governor of Humility and Inestimable Sense of Humour – Morgan

In the one year of his tenure as Governor of Delta State, I have had the privilege of witnessing numerous remarkable qualities in my boss. Among them, his confident problem-solving abilities stand out prominently. Yet, what truly captivates me is his profound humility and remarkable sense of humour, evident in his daily approach to governance.

Governor Oborevwori demonstrates an unparalleled willingness to listen attentively to the grievances of all citizens. His commitment to implementing people-friendly policies and embarking on numerous people-oriented projects across the state within this short timeframe reflects his genuine concern for the welfare of Deltans. His dedication to both rural and urban development aligns perfectly with his campaign mantra of “MORE”.

At 365 days in office, Governor Oborevwori continues to demonstrate a resolute commitment to advancing Delta State to new heights. His steadfast focus on achieving excellence amid challenges, coupled with his unwavering emotional balance even in the face of provocation, is truly commendable. Furthermore, his profound respect for grassroots engagement and his party, the PDP, particularly the State Executive Council (PDP State EXCO), is noteworthy and has earned him admiration from both within and beyond Delta State.

Governor Oborevwori’s popularity in Delta State stems not only from his cheerful demeanour and collaborative approach but also from his humility. His genuine fear of God, coupled with his unwavering sense of humour, respect for all individuals, and zero tolerance for dishonesty, sets him apart as a leader of integrity. He refrains from vindictiveness, blackmail, and divisive tactics, embodying a leadership style rooted in unity and progress.

As the saying goes, “The Vulture is a patient bird”, just as the cookery’s sweet rumble signals a well-prepared meal, Delta State’s future shines brightly. With patience and dedication, Delta State will soon become a world-renowned Eldorado. Indeed, one day, all Delta citizens will look back on March 18, 2023, the day we elected Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori as Governor, with gratitude and pride.

God bless Delta State.

-Morgan E.O Ogapha, is a member of Delta State PDP EXCO
