Itsekiri nation on Easter Monday unveiled Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko as the new Olu Designate.
The Prince Emiko was unveiled at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiris in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Tension had heightened for the past few days in Itsekiri nation following controversies, intrigues and powerplay over the right person that should mount the revered and highly exalted throne of the Olu of Warri.
So, it was a loud shout of joy and excitement when the Iyatsere of Warri kingdom and Acting Chairman Warri council of Chiefs and Olu Advisory council, Chief Johnson Amatserunreleghe at exactly 11.32 am on Monday, pronounced before a gathering of Itsekiri prominent chiefs, Princes and sons and daughters, Prince Tsola Emiko, as the new Olu Designate.
The new Olu designate was born April 2, 1984, to Prince Godwin Toritseju Emiko (the late Ogiame Atuwatse II) and Gladys Durorike Emiko in Warri, Delta State.
