The palace of the Ooni of Ife says it is yet to be formally notified of Prophetess Naomi Silekunola’s separation from the Yoruba monarch.

The Nation reports that a spokesman, Moses Olafare, said the palace had not yet been informed of her decision on Thursday.

Naomi had announced that she no longer wanted to be addressed as the Queen of Ile-Ife.

When The Nation contacted Olafare on Thursday, he said: “The palace is not aware of the decision of Olori.

“Kabiyesi has not briefed me on the matter but I will get back to you soon.”

Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, in a statement posted on her verified Instagram handle @queen_silekunolanaomi_ogunwusi on Thursday morning, said she should no longer be addressed as the Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people.
