Immediate past Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, within the week, visited the family of departed elder statesman Pa Edwin Clark at his ancestral home in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area.
Senator Okowa, accompanied by some former and close aides, met family members of the late Clark and signed a condolence register at the residence of the prominent Niger Delta leader who died on 17th February 2025 at the age of 97.
In a poignant tribute earlier released in the media, shortly after the demise of Clark, Okowa who was Delta governor from 2015 to 2023 wrote:
“On behalf of my family, I mourn the passing of Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, an elder statesman, nationalist and fearless advocate for the Niger Delta region.
” His contributions to the development of our great nation, particularly in the Niger Delta region, will never be forgotten.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Ijaw Nation, and all who were inspired by his leadership.
“May his soul rest in peace. Amen!”
Okowa ‘s obeisance bears testament to his time-honoured respect for the departed Clark, esteemed nationwide as an exemplary patriot.
