The provincial heads of the Church of God Mission International, CGMI, in Isoko, Delta state have paid a condolence visit to the family and relatives of the founder of Bethesda Church International Inc., late Arc Bishop Christian Aggrey Apena.
Apena died in the early hours of Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 91.
The provincial heads were led on the visit by the Zonal Coordinator of CGMI, Isoko Zone Reverend Ifeanyi-Adoh Odagwe.
Reverend Odagwe and his entourage were received at the Irri residence of late Arc Bishop Apena by his first son, Mr Kesiena Apena and other relatives.
During the visit, Reverend Odagwe recalled his encounter with the late Apena and how he had assisted him even as a young pastor.
The CGMI Isoko Zonal Coordinator noted that Arc Bishop Apena was a father to all one who associated with everyone irrespective of the Christian denomination they find themselves.
He enjoined the children and relatives of the renowned man of God to take solace in the fact that their Father lived his life for God.
In his response, Mr Kesiena Apena described his father as a father to many sons and daughters in the vineyard of God.
Mr Apena commended the delegation of the Church of God Mission International, CGMI, Isoko Zone for identifying with the Apena family in their moment of grief adding that more persons from all walks of life across Delta State and beyond have continued to throng their father’s residence in Irri to pay them a condolence visit.
He disclosed that the family is looking forward to hosting more than 15,000 guests stressing that such magnitude would require a lot of resources.
He expressed optimism that God Almighty would make the provisions for the burial which will commence from December 21 to 24 this year.
The visit witnessed the signing of the condolence register by the Zonal Coordinator of Church Of God Mission International CGMI Isoko Zone Reverend Odagwe Ifeanyi-Adoh and his entourage.
Late Archbishop Christian Aggrey Apena, who hailed from Irri community in Isoko South Local Government Area was the Pentecostal Bishop in Delta State.
He was the first Archbishop who was renowned for consecrating many bishops and archbishops in Delta State.
