The new Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has been charged to ensure he unites all Itsekiris for them to remain united at all times.
The charge was given on Sunday by former President Olusegun Obasanjo during the thanksgiving service to mark the coronation of the monarch as the 21st Olu of Warri at the Palace Ground, Aghofen, Warri.
Chief Obasanjo noted that the task ahead of the monarch is no doubt huge but, reminded him that God has prepared him well for the task ahead.
While congratulating Atuwatse the Third, on his peaceful coronation, Chief Obasanjo stressed that the monarch is no doubt chosen by God to ascend the throne and called on the Itsekiris to stand by their monarch.
Also speaking, Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa praised the Itsekiris for a peaceful coronation, noting that the peace should always be shown to each other at all times.
He charged Atuwatse the Third, the Olu of Warri, to always look unto God for his wisdom at all times to enable him lead his people towards development and prosperity.
In his remark, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor described the coronation of Atuwatse the Third, the Olu of Warri, as a design by God adding that whatever God has put His hand always end in praises.
He prayed to God to grant the new Olu of Warri the wisdom to enable him unite all Itsekiris for the peaceful coexistence amongst them to continue.
In his sermon, the guest speaker, Apostle Tomi Arayomi narrated how God through someone’s dream showed him his future plan in making Atuwatse the Third a king that will take Iwere nation to greatness.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the thanksgiving to God by the Olu of Warri, accompanied by the Olori, family members and Chiefs of Iwere Kingdom.
