Arrangements have been concluded for the hosting of the lectures and awards of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS Warri Chapel.
A statement by the Chairman, Planning Committee of the Press Week, Comrade Felix Ekwu and the Secretary, Comrade Johnson Obasedje, says three aspirants in the race to be governor of Delta State come 2023 will be speaking on burning issues relating to power rotation in the state.
The lectures and awards scheduled for Friday, December 3, 2021, beginning at 2pm at Casa De Pedro Annex Hotel Hall along Refinery Road, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, are part of activities to mark the Chapel’s maiden Press Week.
Top among personalities to grace the event are the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief John Obukohwo Nani, the member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Peter Uviejitobor and former Head of News & Current Affairs Department, Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Mrs Evelyn Utunye.
Other dignitaries include two-time Chairman, Warri South Local Government, Delta State, Mr Mofe Edema, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Babsfield Corporate Ventures Ltd and Tamfel Global Resources, Chief Julius Oweifie Babogha and the chairman of Tatcha Farms and General Manager of Evomec Global Services Limited, Chief Alfred Mrakpor.
Also expected to grace the event are the General Overseer, Channel of Greatness Unshakeable Ministry, Sapele, Delta State, Bishop (Dr) Precious Akpore, the General Overseer, Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry, Sapele, Delta State, Apostle (Dr) Daniel Ololo, former Head of Operations (Programmes), Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Mr Uzezi Akpoviri and Mr Sunday Oruarefe Solomon, a 2023 governorship hopeful in Delta State.
At the Friday lectures and awards, renowned Warri based constitutional lawyer, Dr Akpo Mudiaga Odje will deliver the keynote paper on the theme of the Press Week: Journalism Practice In The Build-up To 2023 General Elections In Nigeria.
Olorogun Majemite, who will double as the chairman of the event will speak on “Sustainable Democratic Growth of Delta with Senatorial Power Rotation”, Chief James Augoye to dwell on “Delta Beyond 2023”, while Comrade Mulade will x-ray, “Delta Governorship in 2023 on the basis of Senatorial or Ethnicity?”.
The event has Senior Pastor and General Overseer of God’s Delight Gospel Assembly a.k.a Free Indeed, Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu, as the Spiritual Father of the Day.
Special Guest of Honour is Mr Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Information, Delta State.
Guests of Honour are Mr Olisa Ifeajika, Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor and Pastor Malcolm Oteri, General Manager, DBS Warri.
Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council will be the Chief Host while the Chairman, NUJ DBS Warri Chapel, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo is the Host.
At 11am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, a Novelty Football Match between teams of NUJ DBS Warri Chapel and NUJ Warri Correspondents Chapel was held at the Edjeba premises of Delta Broadcasting Service Warri football field.
