An Ijaw leader in Delta state, Chief Julius Babogha, says Governor Ifeanyi Okowa made the right decision and choice by appointing Chief Emmanuel Amgbadugba and Hon Ovie Oghoore into the State Executive Council.
The Governor had on Tuesday forwarded the names of Chief Amgbadugba and Hon Oghoore along with six other Deltans to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as Commissioners.
The eight nominees which form the second list of Commissioners to be appointed by the Governor adds to the first batch of eighteen Commissioners who have so far resumed at their various assigned positions.
Reacting to the appointment of Amgbadugba and Oghoore, Chief Babogha said both men are deserving of Dr Okowa’s honour to bring them on board to finish strong in the remaining two years of his administration.
“Amgbadugba and Oghoore distinguished themselves as Commissioners for Oil and Gas and Transport respectively to found worthy by Governor Okowa return for the second time in his cabinet.
“They are both men of impeccable character who gave their best to the realisation of the governor’s SMART agenda.
“I trust they will continue to live up to expectation in the respective portfolios that would be assigned to by the Governor after their successful screening and confirmation by the State House of Assembly as well as their subsequent swearing-in by the Governor.
“I congratulate them because they will do us proud,” said Babogha.
The Ijaw leader commended Okowa for keeping to his promise of equitable distribution of political appointments and infrastructure across the state.
“Governor Okowa is a promise keeper and I look forward to his successor that would replicate his exemplary leadership.”
