Frank Kokori’s burial events begin March 4

The Central Planning Committee for the burial ceremony of late octogenarian and Unionist, Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, has announced the Programme of events, beginning with a symposium of tributes in Abuja on March 4, this year.

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, top government functionaries, union leaders led by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, as well as captains of industry are expected to be in attendance.

A statement by the subcommittee on media signed by Felix Ayanrouh Esq, Ebenezer Adurokiya and Kive Kokori, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, has it that while the symposium will be held at the NAF Conference Center, Abuja on March 4, the body of Chief Kokori will be lying in state on March 7,  followed by service of songs and Christian wake keeping at his residence in Ovu Town,  Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.

The internment of the former Secretary General of NUPENG and politician shall take place at his residence in Ovu, on Friday, March 8, followed by entertainment of guests at Ovu Grammer School which is a few meters away from Kokori’s residence.

According to the statement, the Church Thanksgiving Service holds on March 10, 2024.

Dignitaries, top government functionaries, friends and well-wishers are expected to accompany the Kokori family to thank God, and to pray for his children and those he left behind.
