Former players of the defunct Delta Steel Company (DSC) Football Club, Ovwian/Aladja have bemoaned the death of their colleague, Goodwill Obelikpeyah.
The former ace defender died at the age of 59 years after a brief illness at a private hospital in Warri on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Pastor Peters Ejumudo led some members of the club on a condolence visit to the family of their departed colleague in Otovwodo (Agbassa) area of Warri on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Pastor Ejumudo in his thought-provoking speech asserted that everybody will die in God’s appointed time stressing that what was important in life, was for one to know God.
He said, “The life we lived, is a borrowed life. So, we should give our lives to Jesus Christ” he admonished.
Ejumudo advised the eldest child of their fallen colleague, Oghenevwaro to stand firm for his younger ones and their mother.
He also urged the family of their late colleague to take solace in the fact that their father was a good man.
The former striker recalled that the defunct Delta Steel Company (DSC) Admin Football Club was the brainchild of the late Goodwill Obelikpeyah.
He pledged the club’s support towards the burial of late Goodwill Obelikpeyah.
Two other members of the club, Pastor Chucks Uneke and Deacon Henry Agiri who spoke also extolled the virtues of their departed colleague.
The eldest child of late Goodwill Obelikpeyah, Oghenevwaro in his brief response, thanked members of the club for the visit and their kind remarks about his father.
He assured that members of the club will be duly informed of the burial ceremony of his father.
Pastor Isaac Ugbome, Pastor Nehemiah Itimi, Chief Egurase Okorare, Aggreh Ikpomah and Ambrose Ologide, were other members of the defunct Delta Steel Company (DSC ) Admin Football Club that made the visit.
