A two-time female member of the Delta State Executive Council, Rev. (Mrs.) Omatsola Williams is dead.
The deceased politician reportedly passed on Sunday night.
The late Williams who hailed from Warri North Local Government Area of the state, where she was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was said to have been briefly sick before her passage.
Omatsola Williams, who was one of the topmost female politicians in the state, was the member representing Delta South Senatorial District in the Delta State Sports Commission.
Married to Chief Saka Adebowale Williams of Lagos State, the PDP chieftain, was ordained a reverend of the Church of the Lord (Aladura) Worldwide, CLAW.
The Itsekiri-born politician was among the few politicians in the state that have survived in the administrations of the four civilian governors in Delta.
She was a member of the Delta State Sports Council Board from 1992-1993 before she bowed out as a Director of the Delta Civil Service in 1994 during the administration of late Olorogun Felix Ibru.
Rev Omatsola also a member of the Delta State Urban Water Board from 1999 to 2003, Member, Governing Council, College of Education, Warri, 2003–2006 under the administration of former Governor James Ibori.
She was appointed as Commissioner, Directorate of Youths Development during the era of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The deceased was later reappointed as commissioner for Women Affairs/ Social Development by incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Late Rev. Omatsola survived by a son, Rasheed Adebowale Williams.
