Former Delta State Deputy Governor and Senior Advocate of Nigeria ((SAN), Professor Amos Utuama passed away at the age of 77.
Utuama was deputy to Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan when he held sway as governor of the oil-rich Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
Born on June 5, 1947, Utuama sources say passed on after a protracted illness in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos.
During the eight years of the administration of former Governor James Ibori, the late Utuama served as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General.
He would be remembered for his humble and quiet disposition despite venturing into the murky waters of Delta politics.
He was a very loyal deputy governor and played a significant role in the long-drawn ex-convict legal battle of Chief Ibori, which is still believed was a political witchhunt over his stance for Resource Control by the oil-producing states in the country.
