Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has announced the reconstitution of the Governing boards of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and Warri-Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency.
The Governor’s intention was made known in two separate letters to the Delta State House of Assembly and read at plenary by the Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor.
Governor Oborevrwori in his message to the House, nominated the pioneer Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, as Chairman, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, and the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah as Director General.
While Chukwuedo Chekube Hope, Engr. Ogaga Akpomedaye and Mrs Endurance Ibru were named members of the new board, which will also consist of a representative of the Ministry of Economic Planning.
Rt Hon Oborevrwori explained that the development was in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 4, sub-section 2a of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency Law 2015.
Similarly, the Governor reappointed former Commissioner for Health in the State, Dr Joseph Otumara as Chairman Governing board of Warri-Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency.
In the message to the House which was also read at plenary by the Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor, Oborevrwori named Prince Godwin Ejinyere as the new Director-General of the Agency.
Mr Isaac Itobi, Mr Agbosa Onoriode Stanley and Mrs Eunice Oshionwu would serve as members of the Board, with a representative of the Ministry of Economic Planning.
The Governor also explained that the appointments were in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 4, sub-section 2a of the Warri-Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency.
The Governor said he would appreciate early consideration and confirmation of the nominees to enable him to effect the appointments in accordance with the law.
Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor consequently directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of the Curriculum Vitae (C.V) to the office of the clerk of the State Assembly on or before Monday, September 11, and appear for screening on Tuesday, September 12.
