The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed the 2023 budget estimate of Twenty-One Point Eight Two Trillion Naira (N21.82 tr).
President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier presented a budget proposal of Twenty point Five One Trillion Naira (N20.51tr) to the House but during its consideration, the House jacked it up by a margin of One Point Three Three Trillion Naira (N1.33 tr) and passed by a unanimous decision passed.
The Appropriation Bill was presented by Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Muktar Betara while the Deputy Speaker presided over the plenary.
The House also passed the 2022 Supplementary Budget of Eight Hundred and Nineteen Billion Naira (N819b) which was presented to the National Assembly for consideration and passage on December 21 this year.
It also passed the Finance Act Amendment Bill and as well extended implementation of the Capital aspect of the 2022 Budget from December 31, 2022, to March 31, 2023, amongst others.
