The member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor has said that the welfare of constituents would remain a top priority.

Uviejitobor stated this while presenting point eight million naira cash to four Electoral wards in Udu Council Area in continuation of his appreciation to the people for voting en-masse for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and himself during the 2019 Governorship and State Assembly elections.

The beneficiaries of the cash gifts which is the second phase of the exercise were Udu Electoral Wards 5, 6, 7 and 8, with each of the wards receiving the sum of 200,000 naira.

The Lawmaker who had presented same amount each to Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 during the flag-off of the Udu PDP Empowerment program, disclosed that a total amount of two million naira was being disbursed to the ten electoral wards in Udu local government area.

Saying that the constituents deserved the best at all times, Hon Uviejitobor noted that the sum is in addition to what he had contributed to the common purse of the party for the ongoing empowerment program across the council area.

He said with the presentation of the amount to Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, what is now left are wards 9 and 10, stating that the two wards would be presented same cash gifts when the Udu PDP Empowerment train visits the areas.

Hon Uviejitobor explained that the massive support for PDP by the people during the 2019 general elections was unprecedented and left much to be celebrated in the council area, judging from how it used to be in the past.

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources Development said appreciating the wards with the cash amount was a fulfilment of promises made to the people during the Ward to Ward Electioneering Campaigns for the 2019 general elections.

“When we were going round all the wards during campaigns, I did promise my people that I will always return to appreciate them. This amount being presented today is to further thank them for voting en block for our dear Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and for voting for me. The victory of PDP in Udu was unprecedented as it never happened before. The people of Udu have proven to desire the best by voting for PDP and the best they will always get”, Uviejitobor stated.

While assuring more dividends of democracy to the area, the Lawmaker emphasized that he would continue to ensure qualitative representation of his constituency in the State Assembly.

He appealed for sustained support for Okowa’s led PDP administration in the State, stressing that the State Government has done very well in providing good governance and enhancing standards of living in the state.

Hon Uviejitobor promised continued collaboration with stakeholders in attracting greater development to Udu Constituency.

The Chairman, PDP Udu local government, Hon. David Siloko commended Hon Uviejitobor and others for listening to his wise counsel as regards the empowerment program.

Hon Siloko charged the people to remain firm in their support for PDP and urged them to avail themselves of the opportunity of the ongoing INEC registration exercise to register and obtain their voters’ cards to enable them to participate in the forthcoming elections.

The beneficiaries expressed joy over the cash gifts to the wards by the Lawmaker and assured him of their support at all times.
