Kenneth Ukpebitere makes first appointment as PG of Evwreni Kingdom

President General of Evwreni Clan Improvement Union in Evwreni Kingdom, Prince (Chief) Kenneth Ighomifovwo Ukpebitere has approved in an acting capacity the appointment of Mr Obuko Joseph as Chairman and Mr Osietere German Paul as Secretary of the kingdom’s traditional marriage committee.

Ukpebitere who made the appointment on Saturday, December 30, 2023, said the appointment takes immediate effect.

The newly constituted traditional marriage committee is to oversee the affairs and conduct of traditional marriages in Evwreni Kingdom following the expiration of the tenure of the previous committee and the need not allow for vacuum since a lot of traditional marriages are already registered and to be conducted within the different communities.

“The President General, in his fairness and equity, selected a nine-man committee, three persons from each of the communities, namely Urevwe, Okpahwa, and Uneni communities, appointed to act as marriage committee in Evwreni Kingdom.

“Those from the Uneni community in the committee include Obuko Joseph, Chairman, Frederick Inyanrirhue, member
and Athuke Jonathan, member.

“While those persons from the Urevwe community include Udjuame Daniel, member, Egebune Ugbaran, Treasurer, and Ughene Solomon, member.

“Okpahwa community has Osietere German Paul, Secretary, Ake Idekpe, member and Umukoro Ohworiake, member.

“Mr Avwerosuo Emerhor and Mr Marvis Aredia who were respectively the previous chairman and secretary of the marriage committee handed over all necessary materials for the conduct of traditional marriages in Evwreni Kingdom that are in their possession to the President General for onward transmission to the new marriage committee in line with the Evwreni Clan Improvement Union (ECIU) Constitution, as amended,” said Ukpebitere.

He urged members of the nine-man committee to always put the interest of the kingdom above their interest in anything they are doing and pursue the unity of the kingdom.

Ukpebitere stated that as part of the fulfilment of his manifesto, more of his programmes will be unveiled to move Evwreni Kingdom forward.

Responding to the appointment, the Chairman, Traditional Marriage Committee, Mr. Obuko Joseph thanked the President General for finding them worthy and capable to serve in his government promising to discharge the task given to them to advance Evwreni Kingdom for the betterment of every son and daughter of the kingdom.
