The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, said the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has a case to answer in a suit filed by Olorogun David Edevbie challenging his emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the 2023 general elections.

The suit sought to restrain Oborevwori from parading himself as the Delta PDP gubernatorial candidate pending determination of the suit by the court, PDP should not forward his name to INEC and INEC should not accept his name.

The presiding judge, Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo, accordingly ordered that Oborevwori must file a defence within seven days to show cause why the prayers sought, should not be granted.
