NBA WARRI CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION: A SALUTE TO DEDICATION TO PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AND COMMITMENT TO CORE VALUES OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION

Olorogun Oghenero Okoro, Chairman, NBA Warri Branch

On this very auspicious occasion of the centenary celebration of “ A HUNDRED YEARS OF LEGAL PRACTICE IN WARRI”, I congratulate the chairman, elders, leaders and the entire membership of the Branch, both past and present, for this great and admirable milestone.

It is a status enjoyed by very few branches in the comity of Branches of the NBA nationwide and a feat worth celebrating.

It has been a hundred years of uncommon dedication to professional excellence and total commitment to the core values of the legal profession in which the Branch has stayed the course to the solid foundation and great legacies of our great forebears like Hon. Asifo Egbe, Webber Egbe, SAN, Dr Mudiaga Odje, SAN, the Honourable Justice Ayo Irikefe,(former Chief Justice of Nigeria), Chief E. K. Clark, Chief T.J.O. OKpoko, SAN and Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN, to mention just but a few.

A legacy that has seen the branch rank among the even fewer branches of the NBA that has produced two past Presidents of the Association with a high prospect of many more to come.

As one of the twelve founding branches of the NBA, the branch has maintained the strong tradition of the Bar, a gait that makes it occupy a pride of place among its peers and which even with the recent nosedive in the economic fortune of the city of Warri following the exit of SHELL, to still attracts the best of litigators to the city.

As we roll out the drums to fete ourselves on this momentous occasion, I salute the strides we have made in the last hundred years and even the greater future that beckons.

Once again, Congratulations to the Branch and to all of us!

Olorogun Oghenero Okoro,
Chairman, NBA Warri Branch
