The Justices of Nigeria”s Supreme has further depleted to 13 with the retirement of Justice Abdu Aboki.
The total number of Justices of the Supreme Court is 17.
A statement by the court’s spokesperson, Dr. Festus Akande, said that Justice Aboki, stepped off the apex court’s bench on August 5 upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 70.
A valedictory court session to formally mark Justice Aboki’s retirement has been fixed for September 15, 2022.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria consists of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and such number of Justices of the Supreme Court, not exceeding twenty-one, as may be prescribed by an Act of the National Assembly.
