The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed two suits against the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State.
The two suits bothered on the qualification to contest and eligibility of the ad hoc delegates that voted at the gubernatorial primary that produced the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as the PDP governorship flag bearer in the state for the 2023 general elections.
Both suits were dismissed by the presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Obayomi Taiwo, for lack of locus standi and for being statute-barred.
The dismissed cases were; Ogbe v. Sheriff, and Ejoh v. PDP, which brings to eight the total judgments granted in favour of Oborevwori in recent times.
Judgement in two other pending suits has been fixed for Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
