Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Nani, has congratulated Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, Vice Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, celebrating his humility, service and lasting impact as he marks his 50th birthday.
In a goodwill message on Sunday, Nani described Tonlagha as one of the Niger Delta’s most respected civil engineers, entrepreneurs and leaders in the oil and gas servicing sector, whose work has gone far beyond corporate success.
He highlighted Tonlagha’s leadership at Tantita Security Services, which has strengthened protection of critical oil pipeline facilities in the Niger Delta, reduced vandalism, and contributed to the stability of national revenue.
According to Nani, Tonlagha’s influence combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of the region’s social realities, an approach that ensures sustainable peace and development in oil-producing communities.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Nani noted Tonlagha’s quiet but consistent commitment to philanthropy and community service, particularly in youth empowerment and grassroots initiatives that rarely seek public attention.
“Engr. Tonlagha’s strength lies not just in what he does, but in how he does it—with humility, restraint and respect for people,” Nani said, emphasising that such leadership is increasingly rare.
He described Matthew Tonlagha as a positive symbol of Niger Delta enterprise, resilient, service-driven and focused on long-term impact, and wished him continued success in contributing to the region’s growth, security, and prosperity.
