The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set 140 and above as the cut-off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country.

The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2022 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and awards on Thursday in Abuja.

Oloyede said 100 has been approved as the cut-off mark for Polytechnics and Monotechnic while 80 for Colleges of Education.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, explained that the aforementioned points are the minimum, but that does not mean that institutions must comply wholly.

Meanwhile, JAMB has announced Adebayo Eyimofe from Ekiti State as the best candidate for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a total of 362 marks.

Adebayo was closely followed by Ugwu Chikelu, an indigene of Enugu state, who score 359.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Policy Meeting in Abuja, on Thursday. The Policy meeting comprises heads of tertiary institutions in Nigeria whose mandate is to decide the cut-off point for 2022 admission into all the tertiary institutions.

Other high scorers include Igbalaye Ebunoluwa, Emmanuel Oluwanifemi and Ozumba Samuel who were tied at 357, Olumide-Attah Ayomide and Lawal Olaoluwa also tied at 355 apiece just as Dokun Jubril and Amaku Anthony both scored 354 respectively while Aghulor Divine scored 353.
