The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public on a fake INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal currently in circulation in the social media.
INEC on Friday in a statement by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee of the Commission, Festus Okoye, noted a post about INEC Votes Registration website that is different from the CVR Portals which is currently being circulated on the social media.
According to the statement, the address of the fake portal is https://register.inec-pvc.online/ with shortened URL as https://bit.ly/INEC-PvcReg2021.
The Commission said it wishes to totally disassociate itself from the website and any activity carried out on it, adding it has not accredited any agency or organisation to capture details of intending voters on its behalf.
The Commission further informed the general public that INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) online portal remains https://cvr.inecnigeria.org.
