The Chief Priestess of the Ugo and Ogberagha festivals, Chief Florence Brugba, has said that she uses the Igbe Ame/Oren religion to deliver mankind from bondage and to attract divine blessings to humanity.

Chief Brugba made this known during a media chat with our correspondent at her temple in Ubogo community, Udu Local Government Area, over the weekend, as part of activities marking the annual celebration of the Ugo and Ogberagha festivals.

The light-complexioned, elderly spiritual leader, who holds the exalted title of Oniemo (Mother) of Udu Kingdom, explained that the Ugo Festival is celebrated every April, while the Ogberagha Festival is held in September each year.

According to her, numerous people — both the high and mighty as well as the less privileged — have benefited from the spiritual power and blessings associated with the Igbe Ame/Oren religion.

Chief Brugba, however, appealed for increased financial support to enable the expansion and promotion of the religion’s practice.
