Olorogun David Edevbie, who has approached the Supreme Court to set aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal of August 29, 2022, which upturned the ruling of the Federal High Court sacking Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as the lawful and authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State has spoken of what appears to be his optimism that all will end well in his favour.

Edevbie on Monday night via his Twitter handle @edevbieofficial wrote below:

“Throughout human history, great accomplishments have never come easy but they have always been worth it.

“Every heave, every sigh, every discomfort endured as we strive for competent leadership is nothing compared to the satisfying rewards that await us all.

“Indeed, we didn’t come this far only to come this far. We remain steadfast in our hope for a truly modern and progressive Delta State.”

The legal fireworks between Edevbie and Oborevwori took a broader dimension when the Appellate court set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, which declared Oborevwori unqualified to have participated in the Delta State PDP governorship primary due to irreconcilable inconsistencies in some of the documents he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

A three-member Appeal Panel led by Justice Olabisi Ige, held among others that the claims against Oborevwori were criminal in nature and as such must be proved beyond reasonable doubt.

Deltans particularly members of the PDP family in Delta State now await the outcome of the judgement of the apex court in Nigeria on the matter with bated breath ahead of the September 28 official commencement of political campaigns for the 2023 general elections.
