Immediate past Delta State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Otunba Nick Ovuakporie, has expressed his wholehearted support for the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC.

Recall that Governor Oborevwori on Wednesday, along with his predecessor and PDP Vice Presidential running mate in the 2023 general elections, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, collapsed the entire PDP structure in the state to the APC.

In his statement, Otunba Nick Ovuakporie, in a statement on Thursday, opined that the decision is a timely one for the development of the state, saying, “In the realm of politics, decisions are often made that have far-reaching implications for the development and progress of a state. One such decision has recently been made by His Excellency, Governor Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, which has sparked a wave of support from various quarters.”

Ovuakporie drew a parallel between the recent decision and the famous song “Movement of Jah’s people” by the legendary Bob Marley, describing the movement to APC as divinely ordained.

He commended the genius of the decision, which he asserted is completely aligned with and in total compliance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

For Otunba Nick Ovuakporie, the decision is not just any decision; it is a homecoming as a founding member of the APC and the immediate Past Delta State Secretary of the party.

He called on all leaders across the length and breadth of the State to continue to support the More Agenda Policies of the Governor, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinibu.
