The Chairman of Warri South Local Government in Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi on Monday inaugurated the Special Taskforce Committee on Beautification in the council area with Mr Ken George, as chairman.

Speaking at the council secretariat, Tidi charged the task force to uphold commitment in the discharge of their duties.

He said that the emergence of George as Chairman of the committee was based on his excellent track records and his commitment towards achieving results.

According to the Warri South Council boss as a Supervising Councillor on Environment in his first tenure, Mr Ken George performed exceedingly well.

“I am very confident that with him and other members of the committee, the aim and purpose of this Committee will be achieved,” said Tidi.

While congratulating members of the committee, Tidi revealed that the members of the team were carefully selected.

He frowned at the attitude of some persons who find pleasure in dumping refuse along the road adding that such an attitude will not be tolerated.

“We must come together to ensure Warri is well cleaned,” he added.

He called on security agencies to cooperate with the Special Taskforce Committee on Beautification in order for it to achieve its set go.

Tidi disclosed that there will be a mobile court which is not to punish anyone but to assist the committee and serve as a correction to offenders.

He said, “Members of this Committee must focus on the areas mentioned, members must not use this platform to hunt perceived political enemies warning that molestation and extortion of any kind will not be tolerated.”

Responding, the Chairman, Special Task Force Committee on Beautification, Mr Ken George, thanked the Warri South Council Chairman for the privilege given to them to serve, promising not to take it for granted but to ensure that the aim and purpose of the Committee are achieved.
