The Agadagba of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, has made a cash donation in support of the hosting of the 3rd edition of the Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity football Cup in the state.

The Ijaw monarch made the donation on Friday, November 11, 2022, when he received on courtesy call from members of the Local Organizing Committee, LOC, of the football tournament in his palace at Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the kingdom.

The traditional ruler said his financial contribution is in recognition of the fact that the existing peaceful coexistence between Itsekiris and Ijaws in Delta State can be sustained through football and other sporting events.

He commended the convener of the football competition, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, for his initiative and implored him to continue preaching and spreading the need for peaceful coexistence since peace is not negotiable.

The Agadagba of Gbaramatu Kingdom also enlightened the LOC team on the importance of peace to attract development to Delta, particularly, Warri and its environs.
