Ex-Nigeria Minister, Aisha Al-Hassan, is dead

Nigeria former Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’ has reportedly passed on.

NewsNet gathered that she died on Friday at a foreign hospital after battling a protracted illness in her last years.

Aged 61, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan was a Fulani and a trained lawyer.

She became the first female to be appointed Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice and the first woman to be appointed as Secretary FCT judicial.

On July 27, 2018, she resigned as the Minister of Women Affairs to contest the governorship election in Taraba.
