Governor Okowa who earlier affirmed that the Storm Water Drainage Project is one of the outstanding projects his administration has embarked on, started off his inspection of the project from phase I, being handled by Levant Construction Ltd with project sites at Okere road, Eboh road and Airport road.
Thereafter, phase II of the project, being handled by CCECC was inspected at Commissioner’s road and Uti road where he mentioned that Uti road would be re-awarded to another contractor as he terminates the former contract awarded for the road reconstruction.
In his response, the Project Manager, Levant Construction Ltd, Engr. Rahab Harb stated that they are 100% closer to the completion of their project, saying that the project is already serving its purpose in the areas completed.
“Several flooded areas are now having stormwater drained channelled to Warri waterways. We introduced more concrete teams to each of the five catchments making them a total of five teams working simultaneously to deliver the project on time,” said Harb.
Harb affirmed that equipment was mobilized to sites to make sure all issues faced are well handled by their experienced teams and machinery, even as he commended Governor Okowa for his effort in ensuring a flood-free environment for the people of Warri.
In the same vein, the Project Manager, CCECC, Delta, Engr. Wu maintained that their team of workers on sites are progressively working in ensuring that their projects are well completed.
“Two teams are currently working at the site locations, while we also have a precasting site at our yard, all in our effort to achieve a standard project when completed,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to the Governor for taking out time to come and inspect the project and ascertain the progress level of work done.
