On April 3, 2021, at Quest Television and Radio Event Center Ogor in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Miss Mercy Ayeke, was crowned as the new Queen of Face of Urhobo Beauty Contest.
Speaking before crowning the new Queen, the outgoing queen, Miss Doris Obakponovwe in her validatory speech thanked God Almighty for making it possible for her to be able to crown a new Queen.
Obakponovwe was excited that she has now given birth to a new Queen whom she believed would do better than her.
She appreciated all those that stood by her all through her reign that span three years.
Speaking after been crowned as the new Queen of Face of Urhobo, Miss Mercy Ayeke who emerged as the winner of the contest, thanked God Almighty, her supporters and her mother whom she said she considered as her role model for making it possible for her to win.
Ayeke appreciated the organisers for their transparency and dedication to service that led to the success of the programme.
She promised to use the crown to bring growth and development to Urhobo Nation and called for cooperation from members of the general public.
The new queen promised to carry along all her fellow contestants and congratulated them as she considered them all as winners.
The contest had Miss Oke Isodje Dorris and Miss Vivian Utevwejero as first and second runners up respectively.
Speaking earlier, the Lord Mayor of Urhobowood International, Dr Udusan Orekereke, who is the national coordinator of the Face of Urhobo Beauty Contest, welcomed everyone to the event, appreciated sponsors and members of the Organizing Committee of the event.
Orekereke pleaded with the audience to remain matured adding that a lot of improvements have been recorded in the seventh edition of the programme that would now be held Biannually starting with the edition.
A total of twenty-five Urhoho girls registered for the competition with only six making it to the final stage.
The others were eliminated during the audition and camping stages of the competition.
The event has as major sponsors, Code Empire and Runo Integrated Industries Ltd.
The two companies gave all the finalists brand ambassadors of their companies.
Dr Orekereke Joseph while speaking to newsmen after the event thanked God Almighty who was the pillar of the competition.
He appreciated all sponsors of the programme and prayed to God Almighty to reward them richly.
Dr Orekereke also advised the Queen to make good use of the crown and urged other contestants to remain good ambassadors of the organisation.
