Controversial Nigerian social media critic, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been released after spending over two weeks in detention.
Recall that Otse was arraigned on May 22, 2024, before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, facing five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike, to which he pleaded not guilty.
According to a PUNCH report, Otse’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, applied for bail, but the police prosecuting team informed Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon that they needed more time to respond to the application, leading the court to adjourn the bail hearing to May 29.
A viral video shared via X on Monday shows VeryDarkMan walking into his fans after he was set free.
