5th edition of DESOPADEC sponsored DBS Warri music talent hunt kicks off with Emma Grey, DJ Akaba, Ezinne Igbi as judges

Over one hundred persons turned up for the audition of Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS Warri Song of The Year Season Five.

The judges had a difficult time separating the shaft from the wheat during the audition, which took place at the Edjeba premises of DBS Warri.

It began with a pep talk from the renowned artiste, Emma Grey and popular Disk Jockey DJ Akaba.

One after the other, the contestants were ushered into the studio for the business of the day, with the judges passing comments where necessary.

Some of the contestants who spoke described it as world-class and promised to put in their best to win the competition.

At the end of the first stage of the audition, 55 persons qualified for the next stage.

Chairman DBS Warri Song of the Year committee, Mrs Obes Isonguyo disclosed that the winner of Season Five sponsored by Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC and supported by ND Western, will go home with One point Five Million naira, second prize One Million naira and third prize Five Hundred Thousand naira.

She added that the auditioning for those who qualified for the second stage will be held on 22nd August 2024 at DBS Warri Edjeba office by 8am.

Mrs Isonguyo thanked the wife of Delta State Governor and chairperson of You Matter Foundation, Dcns Tobore Oborevwori for sponsoring fifty persons to the competition through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mass Mobilization, Pst Vincent Udume Odogbor.
