Hoodlums on Friday attempted to burn down the Ovwian/Aladja Police Division in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

This comes hours after the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa imposed a 48-hour curfew.

NewsNet gathered that the hoodlums who came in their multitudes, besieged the Police station under the guise of the #ENDSARS# protest.

However, two Coordinators of the #ENDSARS# protest, Comrade Israel Joe and MC Okoloko Papa, who were observing the curfew in their homes were informed of the development and they immediately raced down to the scene.

As they were appealing to the hoodlums to calm down and allow peace to reign, soldiers stormed the scene and attacked the #ENDSARS# Coordinators.

In the process, they (Coordinators) lost their mobile phones and wristwatches during the attack by the soldiers who also unleashed mayhem on the people of Udu.

Inspite of the attacks by the soldiers, the coordinators ensured that the angry youths did not burn the Police station.

The development angered the genuine protesters who also defied the government’s forty eight hour curfew as they burnt fire along the DSC Express road just as they chanted, “We want change”, “ENDSARS”, “#ENDUnemployment”, #ENDbadGovernance#,” #ENDbadLeaderships#”.

Comrade Israel Joe warned that the government should not escalate the ongoing peace move by youths by attacking those fundamentally involved in the agitation for good governance in the country.
