#EndSARS: Nigerian students in Auburn University, US join protest

Nigerian students in Auburn University, Alabama in the United States of America have joined their counterparts in the diaspora to demand for an end to police brutality in the country.

The Nigerian students took to the streets of Alabama in a solidarity walk to demand for the government to respect the protesters’ right to civil protest.

The organizers of the protest at the Auburn University, Alabama, Oluchi Oyekwe, a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences and Seun Oladipupo, a PhD student in the Department of Etymology in a joint statement strongly condemned the #LekkiShooting, #PoliceBrutality, #BadGovernance, and looting by hoodlums going on in Nigeria.

They appealed to the FG to step in and make things bearable for the common man.

During the solidarity walk, the students who were joined by their foreign counterparts carry placards stating their demands.

Some of the inscriptions read End SARS, End Police Brutality, End Bad Governance, End Corruption and Nigerian Lives Matter Always, LekkiMassacre among others.

The organizers of the protest urged the Federal government to look into the demands of the protesters and ensure that perpetrators of the shootings at the Lekki Tollgate on Tuesday 20th October are brought to book.
