EFCC confirms arrest of Bobrisky for abuse of Naira

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has in its custody a crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky for abusing the Naira.

Bobrisky according to the anti-graft agency was arrested at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on April 3, 2024, around 3 pm.

The spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale disclosed on Thursday morning while confirming the arrest and detention of Bobrisky at the agency’s facility in Lagos and is expected to be charged to court soon.

He said, “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.

“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
