Students of public universities in Nigeria are to spend another 12 weeks at home following the decision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to roll-over its ongoing strike.
This was the outcome of ASUU’s National Executive Council meeting which began on Sunday night at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja.
ASUU president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, in a statement said the roll-over strike by the union for 12 weeks takes effect from 12.01 am, May 8, 2021.
Osodeke explained it was meant to give the government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
