Ibru Mercy, a student under the Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe Foundation scholarship program has emerged as the best student in the Junior Secondary School (JSS 3) of Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS) in Ughelli, Delta State.
Mercy was honoured with an award on Friday, October 11, 2024, during the 2024 International Girl Child Day celebration organized by Pink Day and the Class of 1993 of Anglican Girls Grammar School, AGGS, Ughelli Alumni.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that Ibru Mercy, who hails from Otor-Ogor in Ogor Kingdom, received the award in recognition of her hard work, determination, and commitment to academic excellence at AGGS.
The overwhelmed student had tears of Joy when she went upstage as she was not expecting that she would be the best student with an award in the form of a medal and cash.
The Pink Day termed the making of the total woman expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe Foundation for sponsoring such a brilliant girl child.
The Country Coordinator of the Foundation, Rtn. Clementina Ejabefio, PAG, who was present at the ceremony, was honoured to present the cash award after the medal was presented by Pastor Daisy Fewo, who is the Executive Director of the Pink Day.
The Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe Foundation currently has over 50 beneficiaries in the scholarship program with two undergraduate students in private universities who are studying law at the 200 level.
The scholarship program was launched in 2018 with a total of 18 beneficiaries (boys and girls) in both Government College, Ughelli, and AGGS, Ughelli at the time.
