The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), Mr Augustine Chukwuma has urged well-meaning individuals, stakeholders in various communities and corporate organisations to complement government efforts in the area of socio-economic growth and development of the society.
Chukwuma made the call at Onitcha-Ukwuani in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state when he distributed school uniforms to the pupils of Adoh Primary School, Ike-Onitcha.
The PPEB Permanent Secretary said that the gesture was designed to encourage children in the area to show more commitment to their education as well as ensure that none of them was discouraged from attending school as a result of their parent’s inability to provide them with their educational needs.
Chukwuma said that in order to cushion the effect of inadequate teachers in the school, he employed two teachers to complement the number the teaching staff in the area, adding that he had continued to pay them personally.
He stated that he decided t invest in the lives of the children by providing them with educational materials and school uniforms for them to achieve a brighter future, noting that in December 2021, he donated educational materials to them as part of his contribution to give back to the primary school he attended.
Chukwuma, however, advised the pupils to be serious with their studies and shun social vices that could ruin their lives, stressing that there was no shortcut to success in life.
Earlier, the Education Secretary of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Rtn. Comr. Alexander Osademe commended the Permanent Secretary for his magnanimous and humanitarian disposition towards the children.
He stressed the need for other people in the area that emulate the kind gesture of Mr Augustine Chukwuma.
