Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, attend the public presentation of a book titled, “The Experience”.
The alternate Chairman of the committee for the presentation of the book, Chief Christopher Oyemike, disclosed this on Monday in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
He revealed that several persons, who are in love with Christianity, have indicated interest to participate actively in the book presentation.
Oyomike said, “The Experience” is a rare book about pilgrimage and Governor Okowa’s efforts at encouraging Christianity was captured in the book authored by the Special Assistant to Governor Okowa on Media, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo.
“Gentlemen, it is exactly one month to the public presentation of The Experience, a book that will hit the bookshelves of those who have been on pilgrimage, those who want to go on pilgrimage and those who desire to know what transpires during pilgrimage, as the book will be presented on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Delta State.
“We are happy with the responses that we have received so far.
“The governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, whose efforts at encouraging the growth of Christianity, especially in encouraging pilgrims were well captured in the book, will be the Special Guest of Honour.
“Again, a Christian who has had the opportunity to serve Nigerians and humanity as Governor of Imo State, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives at different times, and a well-known businessman, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will be the Chairman of the occasion, which has been described as the ‘Big One From The Big Heart.’
“With the beginning of the countdown to the great event, which we are privileged as friends of the author to be coordinating, we shall be reeling out names of those who will play different roles at the prosecution.
“In the book, Egugbo chronicled some of the things he saw at Rome and Israel; therefore, the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, officials of embassies of Israel and Italy are expected to be at the event.
“Already, those who have gone on pilgrimage to Rome and Israel are perceiving the book presentation as an opportunity to congregate once again and relive the memories of their own experience in the holy sites.
“We are grateful to our Governor, Senator Okowa, for creating the enabling environment for Deltans to excel; we thank him for taking out time to write the Foreword to the book, we thank him for believing in God. And, to our dear Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, it was God who made it possible for you to be Chairman of the occasion.
“We know that politically and otherwise, Governor Okowa is celebrated by democrats all over the world and from reactions so far from Ada Imo and other groups, we thank God for the choice of Rt. Hon. Ihedioha as Chairman.
“Gentlemen, there is a time for everything according to the Holy Book, and the presentation of this book could not be coming at a better time. The Chairman of our Committee, Barr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, who is the Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Communication, is on pilgrimage in Jordan and as such, he is also praying for us.
“By His grace, from time to time, we shall be releasing names of people who will play different roles at the book presentation as stated earlier, but, permit me to state, therefore, that former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue and wife of the Anglican Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Mama Ndokwa Joy Obiosa, will be Guest of Honour and Mother of the Day, respectively, at the book presentation.
“It is worthy to state that during a visit to the Chairman, Delta State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria, Snr Apostle Syvernus Okorote, he noted that the book is welcome back.
“Snr Apostle Okorote noted that pilgrimage is not jamboree or tourism, but for spiritual retreat and renewal, saying that those who will have to go and those who do not have the opportunities will know what happens during pilgrimage with the availability of The Experience,” Chief Oyemike said.
