Country Director and CEO of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Comrade Sheriff Mulade has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for the upgrade and transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, from the Ministry of Transport to that of Higher Education for better management and supervision.

Recall that Mulade, the Ibe-sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, had earlier this year recommended to Governor Okowa that the Marine School be upgraded and transferred to the Ministry of Higher Education for proper supervision.

Consequently, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the State Information Commissioner, Charles Aniagwu disclosed the approval by the State Executive Council for the transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, from the Ministry of Transport to that of Higher Education.

Mulade described Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as a Governor who responds to the people’s yearnings for quality education in Burutu Local Government Area and other riverine parts of the state.

The CEPEJ boss however strongly appealed to the Governor to embark on facelift projects immediately in the school in order to enable it to achieve set goals as the only riverine state-owned higher institution.
