Havillah Holistic Medicine Academy, a Certified Complementary and Alternative Medicine Institution is celebrating ten years of existence.
The school held the first South-South Conference on Integrative Medicine with practitioners from all parts of the country converging at the Petroleum Training Institute PTI Effurun to cross-fertilize ideas on the best approach to adopt in moving practice of Complementary medicine to the next level.
At the event, the National President of Nigeria Union of Practitioners of Complementary and Alternative Medicine NUPCAM Professor Ernest Ugo was honoured for his giant contributions to the growth of Alternative medicine practice.
Dean of Havillah Holistic Medicine Academy Dr Joseph Akpile was decorated as a professor of Energy Medicine while several practitioners of Alternative medicine present at the event were inducted as fellows of the Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria.
The programme climaxed with the celebration of the 10th convocation ceremony of Havillah Holistic Medicine Academy which took place on the final day of the Conference.
In his address, National President of Nigeria Union of Practitioners of Complementary and Alternative Medicine NUPCAM Professor Ernest Ugo represented by the Deputy National President Professor Baderewa Adewale attributed the achievements of Alternative Medicine Practitioners to their ability to engage in scientific research and urged members not to relent to continue to be relevant.
Professor Ugo explained that Alternative and Complementary Medicine have come of age and hailed members for keeping the flag high.
President of Association of integrative medicine practitioners of Nigeria Dr Johnson Elechi enjoined participants to be in good relationships with their colleagues and endeavour to refer patients whose cases are critical to places where they can get treatment on time.
A member of the Enugu House of Representatives for Udenu & Igbo Eze North Federal Constituency, Hon. Obiageli Ajih stated Natural medicine remains the secret to quality health.
Invited guests including Registrar of Petroleum Training Institute PTI Effurun Mr Clement Siakpere and Representative of Founder of West African University Cotonou, Benin Republic made their inputs during the event.
Dean of Havillah Holistic Medicine Academy Professor Joseph Akpile during his inaugural lecture asked those in the field of Alternative and Complementary medicine to be focused as the course deals with human life.
Attributing the success of the tenth Convocation ceremony of Havillah Holistic Medicine Academy to the grace of God Prof Akpile emphasized that over seven hundred graduates have passed through the institution since its establishment in February 2013.
Various resource persons including Professor Gilbert Ezengige, Professor Gerald Okeke, Dr Adeyemi, Dr Itoro and Dr Anastasia Akpebe lectured at the event.
The event climaxed with the visit of participants to various exhibition stands.
