A renowned philanthropist who is also the Managing Director of Evomec Global Services Ltd, High Chief Peter Esievo, recently donated over 500,000 notebooks worth millions of Naira to students in Ethiope East and Okpe Local Government Areas of Delta State including the schools in the Effurun Army Barracks.
Presenting the notebooks to pupils and students of both Primary and Secondary Schools respectively, reaching out to public and private schools, Chief Esievo ably represented by the team leaders, Mr Mohammed, Mr Patrick Esi and Mr Ezekiel Okoro said the free books distribution is an annual project of Chief Esievo who is committed to improve the standard of education and support parents in the area,
Ezekiel said the philanthropist, Chief Esievo is doing this to contribute his little quota by helping the children achieve their dreams in the future,
Addressing the students, Chief Esievo assured them of his continuous support, and urged them to make good use of the notebooks by taking their studies seriously,
He said he knows times are hard and the culture of giving to the needy is his calling and advised the students to always read their books as there is no charm for academic brilliance,
Chief Esievo has also built a corpers lodge at Ekpan – Ovu, furnishing a corpers lodge in Ovu, Oviorie as well as building blocks of classrooms in Ekpan and Urhodo secondary schools,
Communities which received the free notebooks are, Ekpan, Ovwere, Okuroke, Emaka, Olukobare, Okuloho, Asoro, Urhodo, Oviorie, Ovu, Okuidjidjerhe, Okuredafe, Okurekpo, Okpara Waterside, Aghalokpe, Arhagba, Oviri, Okwuovwisi amongst others,
Schools visited are, Ekpan Primary and Secondary School, Urhodo Primary and Secondary school, Ovwere Primary School, Asoro Primary school, Oviorie Secondary school, Oviorie Modern Primary school, T.E.A Salubi Primary School, Aghalokpe Mixed Secondary school, St Peter Claver Catholic school Aghalokpe, Arhagba Primary and Secondary school, Oviri Primary and Secondary School,
Others are, Ezebue Primary School, Unuame Primary school, Okwuodi Primary school, Ovu Grammar school, Catholic school Ovu, Okuredafe Primary school, Gerina Brains Academy, Royal Purse Nursery, Primary and secondary school, Okurekpo Primary and Secondary school, Anglican Church Group of School Okurekpo, Okpara Waterside Mixed Secondary school, Erho Primary school Okpara-Waterside amongst others,
Responding on behalf of the benefitted Schools, the Principal of Oviorie Secondary School, Mrs Judith Egube, said, “We appreciate High Chief Peter Esievo, he is very nice and kind of him, I thank him because these books will go a long way for the students and teachers as well, we appreciate him, thank you and may God continue to bless him,
Also speaking, Dr Efurhievwe Joseph Principal Aghalokpe Mixed Secondary school said, ” I am indeed very grateful for his concern and the welfare of the students and I pray wherever he spends the money from, may God replenish his pockets and may God bless him in Jesus mighty name”,
According to Mrs Akakabota Rachel, Head Teacher Okurekpo Primary school said, ” we are very happy about what Chief Esievo has done for us, we love the man, we have heard the way and manners he has been helping the children from time to time and year to year, I pray that God should keep him to continue the good work, those are the kind of people we need to be our leaders, having the minds of the common man”,
Also speaking on behalf of the pupils, Johnson Tega, Edeki Glory and Okeh Godstime, thanked Chief Esievo, the donor of the books for making things so easy for their parents describing him as God-sent.
They urged others to emulate his philanthropic qualities and prayed God Almighty to bless him.
The students’ yearly free notebooks scheme is part of High Chief Peter Esievo’s charity programme of giving out to the needy,
It would be recalled that High Chief Peter Esievo also distributes free rice, cows, beans and other items to Ovu communities every yuletide season.
