An educationist in Delta State, Djoma Emiliana has been honoured by the South-South Excellence Award (SNEAWARDS) for her outstanding leadership qualities and contributions to the growth of the education system in the state.
The award was presented to Emiliana by the Chairman of the SNEAWARDS, Pastor Honey Olawale, who is also the Director of Global Skills Hub, United Kingdom.
Receiving the award in Asaba, Djoma who is the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE) for Oshimili South Local Government Area commended the organisation for finding her worthy of the recognition.
She said that it was rewarding to continue to positively impact lives, adding that it had always been part of her tradition of giving back to society.
Djoma Emiliana stated that the award would spur her to do her best in all her official and individual assignments.
The Oshimili South CIE, who described the award as a national recognition, lauded the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, her counterpart in charge of Primary Education, Chief Sunday Onoriode and the Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Augustine Oghoro for their support and pacesetting role.
