The Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration’s efforts to transform Delta Trust Mortgage Bank Limited into a leading mortgage bank in the country are already yielding positive results in line with the MORE Agenda.
The Chairman of the 6th Board of Delta Trust Mortgage Bank Limited, Hon. Jude Omena Ogbimi, stated this in Asaba after a meeting of the bank’s Board members and management.
At the board meeting, a leadership position was announced after the immediate CEO/MD, Mrs Rudy Ijioma Okoro embarked on retirement leave thereby paving the way for the next in the hierarchy of the bank to emerge as the new acting managing Director, Barr. Joshua Ogehenejiru Muwhen.
According to Ogbimi, “There is no room for any vacuum in the leadership structure of the bank if it must implement recent reforms of the 6th board.”
He thanked the immediate past CEO/MD of the bank for contributing her quota to the growth and development of the mortgage financial institution in the past ten years and wished her a successful retirement.
The vibrant former lawmaker who represented Isoko North Constituency in the 7th Delta State House of Assembly charged the new acting Managing Director to ensure that all members’ reforms by the 6th board to reposition the bank for productivity and profitability are carried out with utmost precision.
Hon. Ogbimi affirmed that for things to be better, things must be done rightly while people and institutions must embrace change.
According to him, “Delta Trust Mortgage Bank is a public financial state institution, the board and management have been entrusted with the assets of the people, we must be accountable for our actions and inactions on how the bank is run”.
“Whatever we do today is not for ourselves but for Deltans and the future of our children and generations to come. if we fail to take certain actions and decisions based on petty sentiments, we will be asked questions by posterity”.
Hon. Ogbimi emphasized that implementing various reforms in the bank had brought a lot of progress to the financial institution and assured Deltans that at the second anniversary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, which coincidentally will also be the first anniversary of the sixth board, the world we see what Delta trust has achieved.
Hon.Ogbimi said renovation work at the bank’s headquarters was currently ongoing to provide a better working environment, adding that within a space of seven months, the bank had added two new contact centres at Ughelli and Ozoro, while that of Sapele and Agbor would soon be established.
Hon. Ogbimi thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for allowing the sixth board of Delta Trust Mortgage Bank to serve Deltans.
On his part, the new Acting Manager Director, Delta Trust Mortgage Bank Limited, Barr. Joshua Muwhen thanked the state government and the board chairman for his elevation and promised to take the bank to the next level and align with the vision of the board which is in tandem with the More Agenda of the current administration.
He assured that it was a new dawn in the Delta Trust Mortgage Bank, adding that the bank was not just going to be a player in the mortgage banking sector, but a dominant force, a trailblazer and a household name in the sector in Nigeria and beyond

He pledged his total commitment, dedication and collaboration with the board, management, staff, shareholders and stakeholders to revolutionize the mortgage bank.
“We will bring innovative financial solutions to our people and build a stronger brand and more competitive institution in line with the More Agenda of the Delta state government”.
On their part, a Director Mr Joe Ogbolu and Mr Akalusi Kesiena, AGM Loans and Mortgage promised to bring to bear a corporate culture in line with digitalization.
They said shareholders and stakeholders have a winning mindset driven by the sixth board, to reposition the bank as the best mortgage bank in the country.
