The people of Odion community in Warri South Local Government Area have appealed to the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, to extend his development efforts to their community.
Some community members told NewsNet Nigeria that the community needs access roads, drainage system, health centre, and street lights, amongst other things.
The people of Odion community in their appeal called on the Governor to execute internal road projects as part of measures to deal with security challenges in the area.
Chief Ada Williams, Comrade Ogbemi Edah and Comrade Festus Tonwe said the lack of access roads has greatly hampered interventions by security agencies in dealing with some ugly incidences of security breaches in the area.
According to them, many deaths have resulted from emergencies due to the challenge of accessing healthcare, particularly at night.
They noted that the situation is very pathetic especially during the rainy season due to flooding with its attendant consequences.
They said the urgent intervention of the Oborevwori administration is needed to also resuscitate the socio-economic life of the community.
Chief Williams, Comrade Edah and Comrade Tonwe said Odion community has been predominantly PDP since 1999 as manifested in election results from the area.
They pledged the community’s sustained support for the administration of Governor Oborevwori but appealed that the community be carried along in the scheme of things.
