The Executive Governor of Delta State, and leader of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, South-South Nigeria, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, will on Monday flag off the construction of star projects awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.
A statement on Sunday by the Executive Assistant on Communication and Orientation to the governor, Dr Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said the groundbreaking event is expected to kickstart the smooth commencement of the construction of three flyovers, cloverleaf and pedestrian bridges worth N78 billion awarded to Julius Berger in Effurun and Warri metropolis in Delta Central and South Senatorial District of the state.
He disclosed that the construction of the mega road projects shall provide new and multifaceted jobs, create wealth for skilled and unskilled workers at various sites, as well as flourishing business for food vendors, suppliers and consultants, adding that upon completion the flowers and expanded roads would resolve problems of heavy traffic congestions, facilitate movement of goods and services for sustainable socio-economic development in those areas.
Oghenesivbe said the Oborevwori administration has increased the temple of good governance by embarking on several solid infrastructure projects across the state, in fulfilment of electioneering campaign promises encapsulated in his MORE agenda.
“Our street-wise and excessive local content governor, Elder Oborevwori, will on Monday, November 27, perform the groundbreaking ceremony that would kickstart the construction of three flyovers and road expansion projects domiciled in Effurun and Warri, respectively.
“This is the very first-time construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, is moving high technology equipment to Delta State for road construction since the creation of the state.
“It is going to be a landmark event expected to attract top dignitaries across the state, including members of the state executive council, party leaders, senior political appointees, royal fathers and people from all walks of life.
“Invited guests and dignitaries are expected to be seated on or before 9:30:am, at the DSC roundabout” Oghenesivbe said.
